Amaravati: Stating that his predecessor YS Jagan Mohan Reddy turned law and order machinery into a mockery of democracy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that his aim is to establish a crime-free NDA regime in the State by waging war against corruption, ganja and drug mafia and hooligan elements.
While releasing a white paper on law and order situation during five-year rule of YSRCP in the Assembly, he said Jagan resorted to political vendetta from the day he formed the government in 2019. He said there was no freedom of speech with the establishment of a dictatorial regime under Jagan’s leadership.
Naidu said the NDA is committed to implement reforms in police set-up, combat drug and ganja mafia by using latest technology and create awareness on new criminal laws.
The State had witnessed a situation in the past five years like what happens if a criminal heads a party and becomes the Chief Minister, he said. Regretting that 250 SC and STs besides 2,027 women were brutally murdered in these five years in various parts of the State, the Chief Minister said that the murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy, the paternal uncle of the Pulivendula MLA Jagan Mohan Reddy had been dramatised beyond anyone’s imagination.
